OTC Basic Motorcycle Course I

November 9

otc basic motorcycle safety » OTC Basic Motorcycle Course I

This is a 2-day class and only the start date is shown.  You must attend both days to complete the course.

The MSF Basic RiderCourse is designed for beginning riders 15 1/2 years of age and up. During class, you will complete approximately 11 hours of hands-on riding exercises in a controlled, off-street environment. Motorcycles are provided at no additional charge for your use during the course. Your MSF-certified RiderCoach will guide you through the basic skills of straight-line riding, stopping, shifting, and turning, gradually progressing to swerving and emergency braking. You will also complete both a written and riding test. Students who successfully complete the BRC course and pass both tests will be issued a completion card from MMSP which is a waiver for BOTH the Missouri DMV written and riding tests. Take the card to your local Missouri license office and they will put a motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license. You must complete a 5-hour online course within 30 days before your first class date. Motorcycles are provided, and helmets are available for use. Students may bring their own helmet (DOT approved 3/4 or full-face only. No half helmets permitted). Protective clothing is required. Students must wear over-the-ankle skid-proof boots/shoes, with no heels taller than 2 inches, denim weight pants and a long-sleeve shirt or jacket, eye protection, and full-finger gloves.
